postheadericon Once Saved Always Saved Is An Eternal Promise

by Concetta Humphrey

Once saved always saved refers to eternal security. When a person receives Jesus within their heart as their personal savior, they are considered to have salvation. Nothing can ever change this according to biblical scriptures.

It is not uncommon to wonder if at some point once you have salvation could you possibly lose it by wrong doing or sinful behavior. Having eternal security is having salvation forever, whatever you have done or may do in the future. God has forgiveness for all people who are willing to accept Him. This is the good news of salvation.

We learn from scriptures that we have a sin nature in our flesh. Man must be born again in Christ and die unto the flesh. It is not scriptural to say that we can lead perfect, sin free lives. By faith we have eternal security knowing that our salvation is freely given to us.

Jesus has given us salvation by dying on the cross and being risen again conquering death and sin. No works good or bad can have any effect on our salvation. As believers, we should turn from our sin nature and turn toward Christ likeness. We get better in our love walk with Him through the study of scripture and prayer. Christ's example is demonstrated in His own love walk.

As we live our love walk, we aspire to be like Him yet fall short because of sin. Christ died on the cross and bore our sins so we could be forgiven. All we have to do is accept Him and we have salvation. His death and sacrifice would mean nothing if we had to somehow earn our salvation.

Once saved always saved is Christ's present to everyone. No one can earn it through good works, or lose it from sinning. It is an eternal present from God forever. All you have to do is accept your present of life. Read more about: once saved always saved
